What Love Looks Like: A Glimpse of the Heart

Love isn’t just one thing- it’s a thousand tiny moments woven together into something bigger than any of us can explain.  It’s the warmth of a familiar voice, the quiet comfort of an embrace, and the unspoken understanding between two souls who simply just know.

Love looks like a cup of coffee made just the way you like it, waiting for you in the morning. It’s the way someone remembers your favorite song and plays it when you need a pick-me-up. It’s the way your grandmother’s hands feel when they wrap around yours – weathered, strong, full of stories.

It’s in the small sacrifices, the everyday gestures that don’t scream grand romance but instead whisper devotion. Love is staying up late just to hear about a long day. It’s a child slipping their tiny hand into yours, trusting completely. It’s a friend showing up, even when you didn’t ask, just because they felt you needed them.

Love looks like a home that isn’t just walls and furniture but a place where laughter echoes, where memories settle into every corner. It’s the way a pet rests its head on your lap, finding solace in your presence. It’s in the way a spouse notices the tiredness in your eyes and pulls you close without a word.

It’s not always easy. Love can look like tough conversations, forgiveness, and choosing to stay even when the road is rocky. It’s the resilience of two people who hold onto each other, not because it’s perfect, but because it’s worth it.

Love is quiet and loud, fierce and gentle, steady and wild. It’s as simple as a knowing glance across the room and as powerful as a promise kept. Love isn’t just something we say – it’s something we live. And when we truly open our hearts to it, we see that it’s all around us, in a million beautiful forms.

There is a beautiful scripture in 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 that gives us a glimpse of love:

“Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.”
