If you’re like me, your to-do list probably reads like a DIY circus:
make all the crafts, design ALL the decor, write ALL the blog posts. You
want to do it all because, hey, everything looks like a good idea at 2
a.m. But if you’ve ever tried to juggle ten projects at once, you know
it ends up feeling a lot more like herding cats than fulfilling dreams.
Here’s how to keep the passion alive without running yourself ragged:
Get Real About Your “Why”’
Ask yourself; “Why am I doing this?” if the answer is “I dunno, it just
seemed shiny,’ it might not be the best use of your time. Focus on what
actually moves the needle for your (or, you know, makes you happiest).
Trim Down Your To-Do List
Sure, everything sounds fun- until you’re exhausted and have a
half-painted kitchen table because you ran off to start another project.
Pick your top 2-3 ideas and ignore the rest…at least for now.
Batch It Like a Pro
Doing similar tasks together is a lifesaver. Design all at once, craft
all at once, or procrastinate all at once-whatever works. You’ll get way
more done if you’re not switching gears every two minutes.
Celebrate Good Enough
Perfection is overrated. Instead of sweating every little detail, get it
done and keep moving. Done is better than perfect- except for IKEA
furniture; that actually has to be perfect.
Laugh at the Chaos
You’ll never do it all, but that’s the fun part. Embrace the mess, laugh
at your mistakes, and enjoy the journey. After all, life’s better when
you’re having fun…even if it means glitter everywhere and three
unfinished projects.
